Camping at Cockatoo Island

A bed with a view in the middle of Sydney Harbour

Camping_at..atoo_Island.jpgCockatoo Island offers a place to sleep on Sydney Harbour that can cost you less than $50 - just bring your own tent. If you prefer you can hire a site with tent, mattresses, chairs and all the trimmings for under a $100 for 2 adults and up to 3 kids! How's that for bargain accommodation.

Formerly home to a prison and a reformatory school and most recently a ship yard, Cockatoo Island is the largest island in Sydney harbour. These days your more likely to see art installations or music festivals than boat builders or prisoners. You can take guided tours on a day trip visit or camp overnight and wake to a harbour sunrise.
